My name is Anna Petts, I live in the Warradale area and we have been attending the Warradale Community Children's Centre - Warradale Campus since 2015.
I am a geologist and while I worked for a number of years FIFI, I have now settled into a part time role with the State Government.
I really wanted to be more involved in our Community Children's Centre and get to know the staff and parents better. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know families in our local community more, as well as have more of an understanding of how a Community Children's Centre is managed and operated and the demands on staff as Educators within the Early Years Learning Framework. Since I am not able to spend as much time during the day with the Centre, before or after work, I thought I could contribute back to the Centre , as a volunteer on the management committee.
My child's favourite thing about the Centre would be a tie between the great outdoor play spaces and the lovely friendships she has made.
Being on the committee, I have definitely gained more knowledge than skills but have a greater appreciation for industrial law and enterprise bargaining - and accounting! I come from a science background so this is all new territory for me
